Lingams are without doubt the rarest of all Himalayan singing bowls, and also among the oldest. They were made for ritual, healing, and ceremonial use.

Named after the male principle, they are easily identified by a conical protrusion, the lingam, in the centre of the basin. This is usually matched by a navel-like impression on the underside when the bowl is turned over. They are superbly crafted, responsive and easy to play, and have unique sonic qualities.

This Lingam was hand crafted in August on the night of Shivratri. Sawan Shivratri refers to the auspicious Hindu festival celebrated during the month of Shravan in the Hindu lunar calendar, specifically dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is observed on the 14th day of the waxing moon phase. This day holds special significance for devotees as it is believed that sincere observance of this occasion brings spiritual merit, fulfilment of wishes, and purification of the soul.

Tibetan singing bowls are renowned for their ability to promote relaxation, reduce stress, encourage health and restful sleep, and aid in physical and emotional healing. Their soothing tones help align and unblock energy centers, making them an essential tool for any sound healing practitioner or for personal wellbeing.

This bowl was selected in person by a professional sound therapist in Kathmandu Nepal so that the bowl would be suitable for authentic sound therapy. A strong single tone comes from these carefully hand cast and hand hammered bowls
